Mid-week box last night. Temperature was reasonable (min 7.5C) but the wind was more than a little chilly. Well worth the effort though - 18 moths of 9 species with Angle Shades making a first appearance of the year and my first ever Mullein .... if my ID is correct.

ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a Mullein, I found two caterpillars last year and kept them to breed on. One of them emerged last Friday, a cracking looking moth.

ReplyDeleteI knew as soon as I saw it that I hadn't seen one before and the more you look the more you see. A very intricate colouring that looks just like a twig. As you say a cracking moth.
